  • Direct transition into ABA therapy at the same organization if a diagnosis is confirmed

Ages served: 18 months to 6 years.

Families who complete testing with us do not have to find a separate ABA provider afterward, wait for records to transfer, or repeat intake.

Child thriving at a Behavioral Innovations Sugar Land center

Starting ABA therapy for my son was a very long and tough decision for my husband and I, but once we started I don't know why we waited for so long. The leaps and bounds my son has grown are evidence enough that Behavioral Innovations is working for him. He enjoys coming here and has such special connections with all the staff. I feel comfort in knowing he is enjoying his time with them as opposed to how he used to react going to public school.

Therapist and child working together at Behavioral Innovations Texas City

My son started going to Behavioral Innovations around March 2026, and so far major changes have happened for him. He is able to communicate well, more behaved and more expressive. My family is very grateful and thankful for having the whole team. Thank you is not enough for what the team has done to help my son become a better person.

Happy child at a Behavioral Innovations Spring Cypress center

There are no words that can describe the profound love and appreciation I have for the BI Family. I enrolled my son last year and the way he has grown is amazing. Yesterday was bittersweet, he graduated and is transitioning to kindergarten. To Brooke and all the amazing staff there, thank you so much for everything you did for my son! The love and kindness you all have for him is reflected in his growth. If you are a parent looking for a community where they will ensure your child grows, Behavioral Innovations is the place for you.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About ABA Therapy in Houston

Questions about ABA therapy, autism evaluations, or getting started at a Houston center? Our care team is here to help.

(855) 782-7822
Is there ABA therapy in Houston accepting new patients?

Yes. Behavioral Innovations operates 30+ ABA therapy centers across Houston and the surrounding metro, and most have no waitlist or a minimal one. Availability changes as programs fill, so contact our intake team to confirm current openings at the Houston location closest to you.

How much does ABA therapy cost in Houston?

With insurance, most Houston families pay only their plan's copay, coinsurance or deductible, because Texas law requires state-regulated plans to cover autism treatment. Medicaid and STAR plans typically cover ABA at little or no cost. We verify your specific benefits and expected costs before services begin.

Does Medicaid cover ABA therapy in Houston?

Yes. Texas Medicaid and STAR managed care plans cover medically necessary ABA therapy for children with an autism diagnosis. Behavioral Innovations accepts Superior HealthPlan, Molina Healthcare, Amerigroup/Wellpoint and other Texas managed care plans across our Houston centers.

How long is the wait for ABA therapy in Houston?

Wait times range from immediate availability to several weeks depending on the center. Most Behavioral Innovations Houston locations have no waitlist or a minimal one, and because we operate over 30 centers across the metro, we can often offer an opening at a nearby location.

What age groups do ABA centers in Houston serve?

Behavioral Innovations serves children from 18 months through 10 years across all Houston centers. Early intervention before age five is associated with the largest developmental gains, though treatment goals are set by individual assessment rather than age alone.

Where can I get my child tested for autism in Houston?

Behavioral Innovations provides autism diagnostic evaluations and child development testing at locations across Houston and the surrounding area, including Fort Bend, Montgomery, Galveston and Brazoria counties. Evaluations are conducted by licensed psychologists using standardized instruments including the ADOS-2, and produce a written report most insurers accept for ABA authorization.

Does Behavioral Innovations have ABA therapy near Katy or Sugar Land?

Yes. We operate multiple centers in the Katy and Sugar Land area, including locations in Katy, Katy Morton Ranch, Katy Mills, Sugar Land, Aliana (Richmond), Sienna (Missouri City), and Rosenberg. These centers serve families throughout Fort Bend County and western Harris County.

What should I look for when choosing an ABA provider in Houston?

Four things separate providers who deliver consistent outcomes: BCBA supervision (every program should be designed and actively supervised by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst); individualized assessment (a plan built from a template rather than a comprehensive assessment is a warning sign, and goals should be measurable and tied to evaluation data); parent training built in (skills learned in a center need to generalize at home, which requires structured caregiver involvement); and insurance transparency before intake (benefits verification, authorization timeline and expected out-of-pocket costs should be clear before you commit).
