Treatment Center Staff
Regine Booth, M.Ed., BCBA, LBA
Regine is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and the Clinical Director for the McKinney Treatment Center. Upon graduating from the University of Toronto in Canada, Regine began working with children with autism as an ABA therapist. She immediately fell in love with the application of behavior analysis in therapy and in her daily life. This marked the beginning of her commitment in the clinical application of behavior analysis with young children with special needs, and led her to relocate to Texas.
Regine completed her Masters in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism Intervention from the University of North Texas in 2006. Upon completing her graduate degree, Regine joined BI, and obtained her certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Over the years, she remained steadfast in her commitment to the field of applied behavior analysis as she worked with individuals affected by autism and related developmental disorders. Aside from providing direct client care, Regine has trained behavior technicians, educators, and caregivers across clinical, community, and educational settings. She has also overseen center operations across multi-site locations within B.I.. When asked what she enjoys the most about working in the field of autism intervention as a BCBA, Regine replied, "I love the moment when I first connect with a child knowing that I am officially 'in his circle'."
During her leisure time, Regine enjoys spending time with her daughters, playing golf with her husband, and squeezing in a night out on the town attending a performing arts event.
Bhakti Johnson, BCBA
Bhakti brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our BI team, having been in the field since 2012 and working in many different settings. Those have included in-home, clinic, and contracting for a school system where she was able to positively impact the lives of many different children of all ages. She comes to BI with the passion that we are always looking for when building out our great teams, as Bhakti really loved BI’s client-first attitude and quality treatment. Bhakti also has some personal connection to ABA therapy with a cousin that was diagnosed with autism and has since started treatment and shown tremendous improvements!.
Derquicia Sandford, RBT
Clinical Operations Manager
Derquicia has been with Behavioral Innovations since October of 2014. Starting her path in ABA has taught her many levels of understanding that she doesn't think she would have learned anywhere else. Her passion is the kids that she works with. She has been a therapist, a team lead, a program manager, and now she is excited to take the next step in her career as Clinical Operations Manager. Her ultimate goal is to become a BCBA and continue to work with these children who are her life. When not working, Derquicia is at home practicing ABA on her three cats. She also spends quite a bit of time with family and friends. Her favorite place is Disney World and goes at least once a year. Fun fact: She is left handed and gets excited when she sees other people writing with their left hand.
Heather starts her career at BI with some really great experience and education; she received her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Development and then followed that up with her MBA with a concentration in healthcare. All of this has led her to her new role with us here at BI where Heather hopes to bring that passion for impacting the lives of all the wonderful parents and kiddos that we get to interact with on a daily basis.
One of her major goals and a reason she is so excited about joining the team in McKinney is the opportunity that she has to learn from her coworkers and to take that education and grow her own experience to help change lives!
