Mirra Smith

Senior Vice President Human Resources

Mirra has led an impressive career in the Human Resources space for the past 15 years by working across multiple healthcare and government organizations. She graduated from University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. While here, she developed a passion for Human Resources and Organizational Behavior and went on to receive a bachelor’s as well as a master’s degree in the discipline from University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University, respectively. Prior to joining Behavioral Innovations, Mirra served as the Regional Vice President Human Resources at Global Medical Response – a leading end-to-end medical transportation company with over 38,000 employees.

Speaking about her role at Behavioral Innovations, Mirra says, “I am excited about the opportunity to be part of an organization that makes a positive and long-lasting impact of the lives of children, their families and the communities they live in. I believe my people first leader mindset, and ability to inculcate compassion and empathy into organization cultures make me a nice compliment to the current Behavioral Innovations leadership team. Also, I am steady and meticulous, but also a progressive thinker which allows me to balance being reactive and proactive. I see each of these attributes playing a key role in my future strategic partnerships with all departments in the organization and I am ready to hit the ground running.”

Breast Cancer Awareness, empowering and inspiring young women, suicide prevention & mental health awareness are just a few of the causes Mirra supports outside of work. In her spare time, you can catch Mirra at high school football games, cheer competitions or at a local dance studio supporting her kiddos. She also loves to gather with friends and family to enjoy good food and live music.

Mirra’s daily mantra is to remember two things in life – take care of your thoughts when you are alone and take care of your words when you are with people.
