Hope Townsend

BCBA, LBA

Hope graduated from Texas A&M University in December of 2019 with a B.S. in Psychology and a certification in Applied Behavioral Health.

2021 was a big year for Hope as she went on to receive her Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of North Texas in May and then became certified as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in September.

Growing up, Hope knew she wanted to work with kids. Her mother has spent her entire career working with children with special needs as a behavior specialist and related services counselor for over 20 years. It’s Hope’s mother who encouraged her to serve as a summer intern for a clinic in The Woodlands TX, and since then, she has never looked back.

Hope wanted a place in a company that would support her growth and education in the field of ABA instead of keeping her knowledge and skills stagnant. She found what she was looking for at BI, where Hope has gone from a RBT, to COM, and now BCBA in the two years she has been with the company! She has her sights on becoming a Clinical Director in the future.

Spending time with family is extremely important to Hope and she wishes to take her own family to Disneyland one day, where she made some fond memories as a child. Hope likes to read. Her recommendations include a recent book she read – “Look Me in The Eye: My Life With Asperger’s” by John Elder Robinson. It’s an autobiography that depicts the life of a man with Asperger’s from his perspective. It gives fantastic insight into the way a person on the Autism Spectrum may see the world. In a perfect world Hope wants to be on a beach every weekend, but typically you can find her catching up on reruns of Friends when time permits.
