Carla Edwards: There are so many things to be proud of in looking back over the last 25 years. Of course, at the top of the list is the children’s lives that we’ve changed. It’s really cool whenever families will call us when their child goes from elementary school to middle school, or maybe the child is old enough to drive, or they’re going from middle school to high school. Sometimes they’ll call us and tell us all the wonderful things that they’re doing, and it is so wonderful to hear the progress that these children make across time. Whenever you get those phone calls of updates on how they’re doing as an adult, it’s extremely powerful to know that the impact that we had back then is lasting.
